The runt of the litter, Burreaux faced an even greater challenge when he arrived at the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana: a devastating diagnosis of parvovirus, a disease that claims many young puppies’ lives.

But Burreaux wasn’t ready to give up. As shelter staff worked around the clock to save him, this tiny fighter showed a determination that would become his trademark.
